Chobe Princesses
This is a safari experience with a difference. Your home is a cosy houseboat on the Chobe River with daily tender boat trips to see game and birds. Let yourself be spoilt by the crew as you enjoy freshly prepared meals and relax in the lounge or on deck taking in the scenery.
An easy-going Chobe River cruise, with opportunities each day for wildlife watching from a tender boat, ideal for observing and photographing game and birds, as well as trying your hand at catch and release fishing (seasonal) and visiting local communities. There are no set routines, you liaise with the other passengers and crew to decide how to spend each day, and of course you’re equally welcome to remain on board Chobe Princess relaxing and taking in the views.
The upper and middle decks are the main social areas. Unwind in the lounge and bar from where you can admire the changing scenery and watch wildlife as you cruise along the Chobe River. For outdoor relaxation you have a plunge pool and an open deck area with loungers.
Cuisine is an important aspect of the cruise, and a good chance to chat to other guests around the large communal table. You have a choice of a light continental or full cooked breakfast, lunch is a set menu, both served as buffets, and dinner is a three-course meal. To make life easier, all meals, soft drinks, bottled water, tea, coffee, local wine and beer are included, as are the boat safaris, seasonal fishing and a village visit.
There are three Chobe Princesses. Two are 18 metres long and have four suites each, and the third is a little larger and has five suites. All suites provide comfortable accommodation, have a private bathroom and large windows so you can observe wildlife from the privacy of your own room.
These boats offer two and three-night cruises every week. You can book an individual suite or a whole boat for exclusive use.
Times to go
Chobe Princesses operate cruises throughout the year. In terms of wildlife the months June to August have the greatest concentrations of game, while November to May are best for birds with summer migrants present.
