Mid-rangeOverall good quality. This is a wide category, but you can expect a comfortable stay.
Delta Camp is one of the longest established lodges in the Okavango Delta. It is on a small island and overlooks a network of waterways, swamp and riverine forest. You’ll often see elephant and hippo from the deck and maybe glimpse lion and leopard.
Chalets have been designed to merge into the environment, and some have trees growing through the floor or roof, which certainly adds character! They are set at intervals around the property to maximise the views. The hand crafted furniture is made from local woods, and local building materials have been used wherever possible. The en-suite bathroom a bucket shower and flush toilet.
You’ll be assigned a guide who will look after all your wildlife activities throughout our stay. These revolve around island walks and mokoro rides. On a guided walk you’ll learn about the different uses of trees and plants plus pick up tips on tracking animals. Mokoro rides offer the chance to sit back and watch the world glide by, maybe coming eye-to-eye with water birds and watching wildlife on the banks. If you’re interested in culture you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the local village, again accompanied by your guide. Those looking for a full bush experience will love the option to take to the mokoro by day and camp on an island by night, looked after by guides and camp staff.
At the lodge you’ll be free to spend your time as you wish, leafing through a book, mingling with other guests and simply relaxing and enjoying the views. The bar serves a range of drinks and tea and coffee are available throughout the day. Meals are eaten communally, giving you time to get to know not just other guests but also the guides and camp managers.

And don’t forget … for every booking we take, Botswana Specialists (which is part of Tribes Travel) plants trees in deforested areas of Africa through The Travel Forest, and we also back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
