Edo’s Camp overview
Edo’s Camp is built around a waterhole, so you’ll see wildlife from the moment you awake each morning. It’s an exclusive camp with only 4 tents and excellent personal service. Your guide will talk you through the various options available for each day of your visit and together you’ll plan an itinerary to relish. You can set out on foot with a Bushman guide to track white rhinos, take 4x4 drives to observe the wildlife of the Kalahari, take a bird watching walk with an expert guide and enjoy sundowners in the bush. There’s a pre-school and daycare centre on the conservancy, supported by the camp, and you’ll be able to visit this during your stay, learning how the children are cared for before they head to boarding school.
The camp has 4 roomy Meru-style tents, each with a private veranda at the front facing the waterhole where you can sit or lie back in a lounger. The en-suite bathroom has hot and cold running water, a bath or shower and stock of toiletries. The tent’s high ceiling adds to the feeling of space and, coupled with fans, help to keep it cool. There’s plenty of storage space provided by an assortment of wooden furniture. Thoughtful touches include tea and coffee making facilities, insect repellent, a torch and a power point for charging batteries.
Meals are served in the thatched dining area with all guests sitting around the large table, dining together. You’ll be able to watch action at the waterhole, which is floodlit at night, adding some extra excitement to mealtimes. There’s a separate lounge for resting in the heat of the day and enjoying the company of fellow guests. The camp has a sheltered swimming pool for gentle exercise.
