Elephant Valley Lodge overview

Elephant Valley Lodge is in the Kasane Forest Reserve adjacent to Chobe National Park and is an excellent base for exploring both and for visiting Victoria Falls. The lodge is built around a large waterhole, so you can enjoy views of wildlife, often including herds of elephants, from the comfort of the camp. There are two areas to the camp: the 12 Forest tents are in an area of lawn and trees near the swimming pool, and the 8 Valley tents are closer to the waterhole with most having views over it.

The tents are spacious, with comfy twin beds, wooden furniture, tea and coffee making facilities and a safe. The air is cooled by fans and the breeze blowing though the screened windows. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. You’ll be able to sit outside on your private veranda between game viewing activities, relaxing in seclusion. At night you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of animals in the bush, with the reassurance that, with the protective fencing, you’ll sleep safely.

The attractive main lodge has a large dining area and a lounge, all under a canvas roof which keeps off the heat of the sun during the day. Meals are also served al fresco in the boma which overlooks the waterhole, and occasionally at a special bush location. There’s a large terrace and an outdoor swimming pool for that all-important cooling dip.

Your day at Elephant Valley might begin with a cruise along the Chobe River. It’s a leisurely way to start the day. On return to the camp you’ll be able to rest and relax and enjoy some delicious food, after which you’ll be ready for your afternoon activity. This usually takes the form of a game drive in the national park, which includes a stop in a scenic location for sundowner drinks.
