Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge overview
With its hill-top setting you’ll enjoy superb views when relaxing at Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge. This is a tranquil setting where you can sit back and enjoy the lodge’s creature comforts. You’ll be well looked after by the camp managers and their staff, who may even sing and dance for you!
Game drives are mainly taken in Savuti Private Reserve, but going further out, the lodge can offer day trips with picnic lunches to the Savuti Channel, the Savuti Marsh (one of the few lodges which have easy access to this area) and other regions of the Linyanti. This means that guests who stay a reasonable time can get to a wide range of habitats and therefore get good wildlife viewing opportunities. Other local attractions include San rock art paintings which you visit with a guide from the lodge, and the local village where you’re sure to receive a warm welcome. You can also take guided walks in the area around the camp. Activities will be tailored to your wishes so you can make the best use of your time at Ghoha Hills.
The luxury suites are decorated in warm, earthy tones and the style is deliberately rustic with lime-washed wooden floors, sisal mats and rattan furniture. There’s hanging space and shelves for clothes, and a selection of magazines plus natural history books is thoughtfully provided. Bathrooms feature his and hers was basins, twin towel racks, flush toilet and hot water shower. There’s a separate dressing area. The bedroom leads out to a private viewing deck from where you can watch wildlife at the waterhole. There are 2 larger suites that can accommodate up to 4 and are ideal for families.
The boma is used for breakfast each morning, and again for pre-dinner drinks round the campfire. Other meals are eaten in the thatched dining area. The food is tasty, home-cooked fare. Between safaris you can make yourself at home in the lounge, leafing through a book, chatting to guests and unwinding. The lodge has an inviting rock pool for refreshing swims and a choice of outdoor seating areas.
I fell in love this with place. The staff, managers, room, decks and viewing hide made this place exceptional special. You are very remote and away from the more common areas but the dams bring lots of wildlife when full, and you’ll always find yourself having it exclusively. I want to return to this camp.
