Linyanti Expeditions

Surround yourself with nature as you join a guide for a walking safari in the bush experiencing nature first hand, as you relax in camp surveying the plains and as you enjoy a night under the stars in your very own ‘star suite’.

Linyanti Expeditions, as the name suggests, is aimed at people wanting an authentic bush experience, enjoying a proximity to nature that is rare in today’s world. Walking safaris are the camp’s speciality, bringing you into close contact with your surroundings with the benefit of your guide’s accrued knowledge and insights. Leisurely-paced mokoro rides and exciting game drives compete the mix, adding up to a comprehensive safari.

When not out on safari you can relax in camp. With a maximum of 12 guests, the place has an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Share stories and conversation in the tented lounge and sit down to group meals around the large dining table in the neighbouring tent. Shaded and with sides that can be opened up, these areas remain pleasantly cool by day. The campfire comes into its own at sundown, when guests gather for drinks, and then later after dinner for some stunning star gazing.

Tents are, at first appearance, conventional canvas safari tents. With wooden frames and high ceilings they are sturdy and spacious. You’ll feel at home with comfy beds, campaign furniture and patterned rugs with large gauze windows admitting lots of natural light. There’s plenty of room for your belongings, and you have an en-suite bathroom to one side with a bucket shower, wonderfully refreshing after spending time in the bush. Out front there’s a shaded veranda. Where the tent differs from the norm is the ‘star suite’ extension. This is a mesh-covered area where your bed can be moved, to enable you to experience a night under the stars without stirring from the your own tent.

Times to go

Linyanti Expeditions is closed in the green season, when it’s less safe for walking safaris with the longer grasses providing cover for wildlife.
