Muchenje Safari Lodge overview
Muchenje Safari Lodge is built on an escarpment and has sweeping views across the Chobe River and its floodplains. It is to the west of Chobe National Park and most of the wildlife viewing takes place in a comparatively little-visited part of the Park, away from any crowds. From Muchenje you’ll be able to enjoy game drives, boat safaris, bush walks and night drives. It’s also possible to visit the nearby village and school, spending time getting to know some of the local people. Between times you’ll be able to relax, swim in the pool and chat with other guests.
The lodge is privately-owned and the staff, most of whom live in the local village, provide a high level of service and hospitality. You’ll soon feel at home at Muchenje. With just eleven rooms, the lodge has an exclusive but relaxed atmosphere. Each bungalow offers self-contained accommodation, with a well-furnished bedroom with a range of furniture, safe and ceiling fan, bathroom with shower, toilet and twin hand basins, and a covered veranda from which you can take in the panoramic views and watch wildlife. One of the bungalows is larger with a loft with 2 single beds, sleeping up to 4 people, perfect for families and groups of friends.
The lodge has an excellent range of facilities. Social areas include a dining room where you’ll be treated to some tasty home cooking, bar, lounge with a range of games and books, and a gift shop. There are several viewing decks and a firepit plus a sunbathing area and a feature swimming pool surrounded by natural rock formations. All make the most of far-reaching vistas.
A simple yet elegant lodge which offers great views, great guiding, great accommodation, great service, all set in beautiful surroundings. A stay here will be one of the highlights are your safari.Tracy Edwards
