Ngoma Safari Lodge overview
Ngoma Safari Lodge is perched high above Chobe River. Sitting up in bed you’ll be able see the river and floodplains stretching out in front of you through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The accommodation is of a very high quality and the game viewing is varied, including 4x4 drives in Chobe National Park famous for its large herds of elephant, peaceful boat cruises and nature walks in Chobe Forest Reserve. Bird watchers will not be disappointed, with over 450 species recorded in the area.
The main area incorporates the cosy lounge, bar and dining room, which lead out to a series of decks at lower levels, where you sit and catch up with some reading, talk to other guests, top up your tan, watch game at the waterhole and cool off in the pool. From all of these areas you’ll enjoy captivating views of the river and Caprivi floodplain. Meals are served indoors and outside and include bush picnics and lamp-lit dinners under the African stars. The air-conditioned suites have large beds complete with a mosquito net. Local wood has been used in their structure and for the chunky furniture. Rugs, cushions and throws are in rich browns and russets.
The front wall consists of full length, opening windows, looking out over the Chobe River. The bathroom, reached by a short flight of steps behind the bedroom, is large, decorated in soft tones and include a bathtub, a walk-in shower and twin hand basins. There’s a separate toilet. Outside there’s a terrace with sun loungers, a table and chairs, a plunge pool and outdoor shower. With tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar you’ll be able to help yourself to your choice of drinks as you unwind.
