Selinda Explorers Camp
At Selinda Explorers Camp you’re encouraged to get out and explore on foot and by canoe, to get close to nature and experience it for yourself. The camp reflects this emphasis on nature, eschewing air-conditioning in favour of the cooling breeze and favouring star-light to chandeliers come evening. This is a bush camp, but with high levels of comfort and service. Oh, and it’s just for you – it’s exclusive-use only.
There are just 4 tents, all arranged along the Spillway and with private verandas equipped with chairs plus hammocks strung up in nearby trees for quiet relaxation. Within each tent full-size beds and campaign furniture provide comfort and storage space, and Persian rugs add a hint of luxury. At the back of the tent there’s a dressing area with 2 copper hand basins, clothes storage space and a full length mirror. Beyond this is an enclosed en-suite with a shower and toilet, open to the sky. For the ultimate indulgence a brass hip bath can be set up for you in a secluded location overlooking the water – all you need to do is ask!
Morning and afternoons will be taken up with guided walk and canoe trips and you’ll have the option of game drives and night drives to explore a little further afield. All this adds up to an active and exciting safari. You’ll have the chance to relive the day’s events over a delicious dinner cooked over an open fire and later, sitting around that same campfire, as you sip a nightcap. There is limited solar-power, but lanterns provide most of the light once the sun has set, set up in strategic positions round the camp. You’ll be in camp in the middle of the day when you’ll have time to unwind, laze on the oversize cushions under the mess tent canopy, take in the views and enjoy a swim in the cool waters of the spillway.
Selinda Explorer’s Camp offers you a refined safari adventure in a great private spot in the Linyanti. It’s hard to beat that surely?
