Stanley Safari Lodge overview
Stanley Safari Lodge is just 3 kilometres from the thundering Victoria Falls and borders Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, so staying here you can combine visits to the Falls with game viewing. There are lots of ways to view the Falls, from a guided walking tour to an exciting helicopter ride, plus a number of activities for adrenalin junkies such as bungee jumping, gorge swinging, abseiling and whitewater rafting. Cruises on the might Zambezi River, especially at sunset, offer a rather more relaxed experience. The lodge arranges game drives in the national park, river safaris and day excursions to Chobe National Park. If you have an interest in culture you’ll enjoy a trip to a local village and market.
The lodge is set on a hill and the landscaped gardens are laid out over several levels, one of which includes a rim-flow swimming pool overlooking the bush below. Sun loungers are arranged on the surrounding lawn, perfect for a lazy afternoon. The high-ceilinged lounge is filled with local carvings and artwork. Snuggle up in a chair or sofas as you socialise or leaf through a book. In the late afternoon the firepit beckons, as you join other guests to watch a glorious sunset, cocktail in hand. Behind you, the main lodge is a picture with light streaming out across the lawn, inviting you in for dinner.
There are just ten rooms at Stanley Safari Lodge, all en-suite with both bath and shower, between accommodating a maximum of 24 guests. Each is individual in designed and décor, incorporating natural materials like stone, wood and thatch. The 4 suites are luxurious, with bedrooms leading out to a private deck with a plunge pool. The cottages are rustic in style, but offer a high level of comfort and have private terraces. Most of the rooms are open-fronted, exposed to the natural elements and sights and sounds of nature while others can be closed, better suited to those desiring greater privacy.
