Tuli Safari Lodge

The lodge is located between a beautiful sandstone ridge and the mighty Limpopo River. The extensive grounds are an oasis within the dramatic landscape of the reserve. There is plenty to do at the lodge itself, before you venture out to discover what the reserve has in store. There is a large swimming pool, a small hide overlooking a waterhole, a panoramic viewpoint, also known as the star deck, is a lovely place to spend a bit of quiet time, and there are numerous other peaceful and shady areas with stunning views where you can just chill. If you prefer to be more active then take a stroll along the walking trail and explore more of the surrounds.

Game drives and guided bush walks offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and these are a highlight at Tuli Safari Lodge which is home to the Big 5 and also the Small 5. In the lodge grounds you could come across vervet monkeys, bushbuck, squirrels and warthogs without having to venture far, not to mention numerous species of birds.

Additional activities can be arranged such as a visit to the local village, Mothlabaneng. You will visit a school, try wine-tasting  with a difference (at the lala-palm ‘distillery’) and also see traditional basket-weaving, as well as the opportunity to see some of the lodge’s community projects in action.  Night drives offer the opportunity to go out after dinner and perhaps see some of the elusive wildlife that is only active at night. There is also an option to spend the night at one of the hides, subject to weather and availability. (Some of the additional activities may incur a cost.)

Between activities you’ll have plenty of time to relax at the lodge either enjoying the main areas, the large pool, or some of the shady spots throughout the grounds. You may want to retreat to the privacy of your own room.  There are eight tented suites and two classic suites. The tented suites are spacious and airy an are elevated on wooden decks which wrap around the suite and provide the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding bush.  Inside is elegant and open plan. There is a large sleeping area, lounge area and each room has a free-standing bath with a separate wet room with shower, basin and toilet.

The two classic suites are furnished and designed to the same high standard, and have very similar internal layouts and features to our tented suites with the addition of an outdoor shower in a private patio area. They main difference is these suites have solid walls topped with thatch roofs, air conditioning and a shaded veranda.
