Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp

Set on an island in a huge private concession, your adventure at Xaranna starts when you board the light aircraft for the remote airstrip. On landing, it takes about an hour to reach camp by a combination of 4x4 and boat, immersed in wilderness all the way.
This area consists of lush terrain, a myriad of winding waterways, riverine forest, marshes and small islands, as far as the eye can see. Such diverse landscape is home to plenty of wildlife. Hippos, elephants and crocs thrive here in large numbers, it is also home to large buffalo herds, lion, leopard and the notoriously shy sitatunga antelope. The Delta is a birders paradise and in the summer months a healthy influx of migrant species swell the numbers.

The lodge has a contemporary feel with just 9 opulent en-suite safari tents for guests. Each one overlooks the permanent lagoon and is comfortably furnished with a four-poster bed draped with a mozzie net. The modern round sofas are perfect for a spot of relaxation or you may prefer to go onto your deck to your private plunge pool to cool off from the midday heat. The en-suite bathroom has a deep bathtub and inside shower, outside there is another shower, allowing you to freshen up in privacy surrounded by nature.

A floating jetty is connected to the lodge’s split level main area. The dining room is on one side and the lounge on the other. They have a canvas roof to protect you from the elements, but the sides are open, maximising on the views across the water channels. From the dining room, a few steps will take you down to the firepit, a popular place for a nightcap before bed.
