Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge is built at the edge of a lagoon in the world-famous Okavango Delta. While staying here you’ll be led on game drives, nature walks and bird watching trails. Between you’ll be able to take it easy at the lodge, enjoying the views from one of the rooftop decks and savouring tasty food. Meal times here tend to be an occasion.
The central area has a range of decks with generous indoor and outdoor space. Recycled materials such as car tyres and oil drums, have been incorporated into the décor as tables and bar tops. You can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen as you sit on the dining deck and, should you want to pick a few tips, your offer of assistance will be cheerfully accepted! The interactive kitchen makes it feel very homely.
Off to one side the jetty leads out over the water, the starting point of motorboat and mokoro cruises. A little way away, a tyre swing has been set up beneath some trees.
The 2-storey suites feature an air-conditioned bedroom with ample shelving and hanging space on the lower level, which leads down to the bathroom with a large bathtub and shower and the separate outdoor shower. To the front you there’s a secluded deck with a large round lounger and your very own plunge pool. From the upper level you’ll have superb views over the Delta. There’s a private dining area here plus a bed, perfect for a romantic night under the African stars.
When it comes to exploring you’ll have a choice of activities including thrilling game drives across the open plains and quiet journeys of discovery in a mokoro, plying through the water channels and lagoons, each displaying different aspects of the Okavango Delta and its wildlife. You’ll also have the opportunity to accompany a guide on a nature walk in the bush which gives you time to examine the small details you can’t see from a vehicle.
