Botswana is more straightforward to reach than you might think. Here is how most of our travellers get there, and how you move around once you do. We arrange every flight and transfer, so it all joins up seamlessly.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Botswana. Almost everyone connects through Johannesburg in South Africa, usually an overnight flight, then a short connecting flight on to Botswana the next day. It is an easy, well-trodden route.
Two small airports do most of the work. Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta and the south of the safari country. Kasane is the gateway to Chobe and Victoria Falls in the north. On many trips you fly into one and out of the other, so you do not double back.
The Falls sit just over the border in Zimbabwe and Zambia. From Chobe it is a short road transfer or hop, and you can also fly into Victoria Falls airport in Zimbabwe or Livingstone in Zambia. We will route you whichever way works best.
On a fly-in safari, little light aircraft link the remote camps, and the flights themselves, low over the Delta, are part of the magic. On a mobile safari you travel overland by 4x4. Either way, we handle every connection.
